Volume 18
Dr. Lindsay Gibson interview, archetypes, trend forecasting, and pop culture empathy for managers.
Hi and welcome to Volume 18 of Content People.
Let’s get into it.
The Content People Episode
This week’s guest is Dr. Lindsay C. Gibson: A clinical psychologist and bestselling author specializing in helping people identify and deal with emotionally immature people (or EIPs).
Her book Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents was a breakthrough best-seller.
She’s since followed it with a series of popular, related books, including:
Recovering from Emotionally Immature Parents, Self-Care for Adult Children of Emotionally Immature Parents, and her latest work, Disentangling from Emotionally Immature People.
Dr. Gibson has been featured on some really huge platforms - like Ten Percent Happier - podcast where her interview was one of their most popular episodes.
So it was such a privilege to chat with her. Our conversation focused specifically on her latest book, and dealing with EIPs in the workplace.
Check it on Spotify, Apple, and Google.

Archetypes? I’m in. 📚 King, Warrior, Magician, Lover: Rediscovering the Archetypes of the Mature Masculine. Just cracked this, and enjoying it. It’s like a masculine-archetype version of the incredible Women Who Run With the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype.

Listening
🎧 Beauty podcast Gloss Angeles interviewed Kendall Becker, editor at the trend forecasting agency Trendalytics. Kendall had really sharp insights around why certain trends take off, how they evolve, and why they fade away. (Of course, TikTok now influences … everything.)
🎧 Sorry. I know I’m always recommending the podcast This Jungian Life. But their episode on Imposter Syndrome was so good. So good!
🎧 Conversations with Tyler. Tyler Cowen’s interviewing style is a choice, but I’m finding his direct and impeccably researched conversations inspiring and informative. The Stewart Brand ep was especially good.
Watching
Strange Planet (of instagram fame) is now ‘Strange Planet’ the Apple TV show. Full disclosure: I don’t think I’ll keep watching. But I appreciated that the first ep explored the complicated emotional experience of being a first-time manager and managing your former colleagues + friends.
